From Alston, follow the B6277 towards Middleton-in-Teesdale. High Ashgill is a long white building with a wind turbine on the gable, opposite a forest and 800m from the bridge over Ashgill Force.

Jules Cadie is primarily a painter, but also constructs painted relief panels celebrating the seasons of the year, often incorporating digital printed images, and makes sculpture that explores the properties of natural and raw materials. Most of his subject matter is drawn from within walking distance of his studio, and explores the ways that nature and culture interact.

His work is featured in collections across Britain , Europe and the USA . Commissions include designs for a series of carved oak interpretation panels in a Midlands country park, designs for a range of seasonal ales for a brewery in Scotland , and cover designs for music CDs. He is happy to take on event or site-specific commissions and projects.
